Raising a perpendicular line

Back to constructions homepage

Back to Geometry homepage

In this exercise you are given a point \(X\) on the line \(AB\). Your task is to construct another point \(Y\) such that \(XY \perp AB\).

Once you have done the construction, you can use the angle tool to measure the angle and confirm that it is a right angle.

The diagram contains an example of a point \(C\) on the line \(AB\) and a line through \(C\) perpendicular to \(AB\).
